Patricia A. Black, owner, designer and seamstress by profession has over 35 years experience in custom sewing and clothing design.
While apprenticing with master tailors and seamstresses in the early 1980's in the downtown Boston garment district, Patricia was taught the fine art of of custom clothing construction, from hand stitching, patternmaking, taking measurements to the finished garment.
What started out as a passion and a personal desire to have clothing that fit and is perfectly tailored to each individual body requirement, Patricia began working one on one with her clients. In 2007, Patricia opened Sew At Seams Custom Tailoring & Alterations with the encouragement of her satisfied customers.
3/28/2013 - "70 years ago this November I was issued a blanket at the Marine Corps training depot, Paris Island, South Carolina during World War II. This was the year 1943. Over time in many moves this blanket has accompanied me in many travels.
Over the past two years I have searched for someone to repair moth and dog chewing damage to this valuable item. Needless to say the work involved demanded creativity, knowledge and skill. After many attempts and many inabilities and or unwillingness voiced to undertake this challenge, I was fortunate enough to meet Ms. Patricia Black, the owner of Sew At Seams of Wareham, Massachusetts.
She agreed to undertake this task, and
after several weeks returned to me this precious personal item in pristine
condition. Like so many small business and entrepreneurs in America today, she
represents what this country was founded on, creating work and experiencing
something. I highly recommend Ms. Black to anyone looking for custom design
clothing and dedicated workmanship."

4/2013 - "My husband and I have been volunteering to play the role of Mr. & Mrs. Clause for several years when our children were growing up and we did this for many places such as schools, nonprofits, businesses as well as friends and family. This past 2012 we wanted to have our outfits custom tailored for us so that we could look more authentic when we are out playing Mr. & Mrs. Clause. My issue was finding a seamstress who would do this for us. I was driving down Main St. Wareham, Mass. one day and saw a sign Sew At Seams, so I stopped by and went in to meet the owner. I met a woman name Patricia Black, the owner and I proceeded to tell her what my vision was and she guided me in what to pick up. We discussed the pattern I chose and how it will all come together.
Patricia was very friendly, patient, clear and very concise with each of our meetings as well as fittings and was able to complete our outfits in a very timely manner. My husband and I were very pleased and excited as to how everything went and turned out. It seemed effortless and a truly wonderful experience with Patricia. Since this this time we had done events and were truly complemented on how great we looked and the children felt we were the real thing.
So, Patricia, thank you for all the
wonderful love an kindness in making our vision a real one."
